Justin joins Biogeochemistry as Associate Editor

Justin has joined Springer’s journal Biogeochemsitry as an associate editor. Peer review is an important institution for academia; it serves as a time for ideas and evidence to be judged by anonymous reviewers chosen by the journal for their expertise in the respective field. Justin has served as an anonymous reviewer for over 70 studies submitted for publication across 20  environmental sciences/soil science/pollution focused journals.

In a nutshell,  the goal of the reviewer is to evaluate if the author(s) has asked a question of interest, produced sufficient evidence to investigate the question, and soundly used evidence to examine the question and shed light on why or how it came to be.

As an editor, Justin will step in a new role as a judge to decide if the article is new/of interest for the journal Biogeochemistry and weigh evaluation of the anonymous reviewers to decide if the study is sound and ready for publication.

Exciting times lay ahead and if there is a topic you’d like to see investigated further by Biogeochemistry, send Justin an email!
