The American Geophysical Union (AGU) annual meeting is a bustling meet up of hydrologists, atmospheric scientists, ecologists, geologists, remote sensing, space researchers and many many more. Attendees range from scientists, academics, educators, funders, industry, and policy makers. This broad range of minds helps make the meeting dynamic with limited repetitive overlapping sessions.
The 2024 AGU meeting was exciting in particular for Robin Truong and Nischal Acharya as it was their first time attending such a large conference. Fortunately for us, this 2024 AGU was held in Washington DC, making it easy to attend from Virginia.
The scale of AGU is quite large, with poster sessions in a grand hall that included up to 3000 posters each day. The posters would be held during the morning and again in the afternoon.
Getting from room to room in the grand hallways and escalators is a test!
