Science should never exist exclusively as papers in journals that are read by only a few individuals. Fortunately, Susan Fisk from the Soil Science Society of America’s outreach wing connected with me to take soils to the people! During the Soil Science Society of America meeting in San Diego, we partnered with San Diego Nerd Nite to bring soils to the people. Catilin Hodges, Mary Tiedeman and I presented different aspects about soils.

Through jokes and facts, I covered about “What is Soil”. The ~40 person crowd was fantastic and asked excellent questions and shared stories about their own soils. Can’t wait to present again!
